What tour did you travel on?

Best of British

Why did you select this particular tour?

The attraction to Albatross was the slow pace and longer stays in locations. It was great to not have to get up everyday and have bags packed. The slow pace enables you to fit more in to your tour. The Best of British Tour attracted us given the access to England, Wales and Scotland. The smaller group is also an attraction.

Who did you travel with?

I travelled with my wife Ann Maree, and our new found friends, six from our previous Ireland Connection Tour

Have you travelled with us previously?

The Best of British tour was the second, having only just completed the Ireland Connection tour with one day in between.

What was your favourite place/s on your Albatross tour?

Everyday had highlights. Bath was captivating, a quick stroll from our hotel and you were surrounded by the ancient roman baths. The Lake District natural beauty was superb. Scotland bought a different experience. in the midst of the fringe festival and The Military Tattoo, Edinburgh was alive. By contrast tours to Stirling and the Trossarchs was more peaceful. Loved the Yorkshire Country with Whitby and York highlights. Shakespeare country was steeped in history, and our day strolling through Strafford Upon Avon, was a delightful change of pace. Oxford was extremely interesting with the history of the famous University town intriguing. with Windsor, our first real experience with the Royals, and our stay at Leeds Castle a real winner

What was the most amazing thing you saw or did on your Albatross tour?

The Lake District and the pace in which we explored this beautiful place was a standout. But without a doubt our day and overnight stay in Leeds Castle was the icing on the cake. Having the entire castle and grounds to ourselves and being treated like royalty was amazing.
