What tour did you travel on?

Paris, Lyon & the French Alps tour in December, 2019.
 

Why did you select this particular tour?

We chose this tour for it's festivities, weather and ambience. And it looked like a really fun itinerary to share with our loved ones.
 

Who did you travel with?

I was lucky enough to have a group of family and friends to enjoy this trip with.

 Have you travelled with us previously?

Yes, on the Black Forest, Bavaria & Tyrol tourwhich was another very scenic tour. 

What was your favourite place/s on your Albatross tour?

Hands down it would have to be magical Megeve. What a beautiful hidden gem. We would never have visited or really known about it had it not been part of this tour. It's a little French ski village in the Alps.

We arrived in Megeve as the sun was setting and the whole village was covered in snow and there were festive decorations everywhere with many fairylights. The excitement of our group was such a beautiful thing to experience.

We arrived at our chalet to find out that we had the whole chalet to ourselves which had a lovely living room with a fireplace. We had a private chef cook us an absolutely beautiful dinner with the most divine French red wine to match. We then wondered into the centre of the village and played in the snow.

What was the most amazing thing you saw or did on your Albatross tour?

Another special day was in Courchevel 1850. We had such a beautiful day of blue skies. We were given ski lift passes and spent the next few hours exploring the town from up above. We then sat in a nearby restaurant and enjoyed warm soup whilst watching the daring skiers.

Tell us about your most memorable moment on tour?

It would have to be in Megeve the first night we arrived, walking into the centre of town where there was a huge tree decorated with Swarovski crystals and playing in the snow, then walking through the town decorated in magical Christmas decorations. It was beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.

What was your favourite meal on tour?

It would have to be our dinners at our chalet in Megeve where we had a chef come in to cook us a beautiful French dinner in our private dining room.

What advice do you have for anyone interested in travelling on this tour?

Be prepared to tap into your inner child and just have some fun immersing in the festive spirit.

Would you recommend this tour to family and friends?

Absolutely, from the city lights and architecture of Paris, to the lovely old city and Christmas markets of Lyon to the magical town of Megeve with its festive ambience that we don't get to ever experience in Australia or New Zealand. Plus the day trips to the French Alps of Courchevel and Chamonix then finishing in chic and artistic Milan, it was such a beautiful end to the year.
